Billy Frank Memorial Scholarship

The Billy Frank Memorial Scholarship was established by the Frank family to honor the memory of Billy Frank. Several scholarships are awarded annually to students who have demonstrated a high level of academic achievement and leadership. Scholastic ability, future goals, and personal essays are the main criteria used to select recipients. This award is for students attending college, university, or vocational school at institutions other than the University of Wyoming.
REQUIREMENTS:
▪ Not eligible for use at the University of Wyoming
▪ One Essay with multiple questions:
What is your greatest achievement? What has been the biggest challenge of your life, and how have you overcome it? (Limit: 500 words or fewer.)
As his personal credo, Billy Frank said, “I sincerely hope humans are able to unify the societies of the world into a single dynamic in order to sustain the Earth.” What do you think that unified dynamic would look like? How can you contribute to a healthy and sustainable world? How do your future goals help support a just and fair society? (Limit: 500 words or fewer)
VALUE: $1500 one-time award. Multiple awards may be given.
Winners are encouraged to maintain a GPA of 2.5 or higher in High School to qualify for funding from this scholarship.

La Beca Conmemorativa Billy Frank fue establecida por la famlia Frank para honrar la memoria de Billy Frank. Se otorgan varias becas anualmente a estudiantes que han demostrado un alto nivel de rendimiento académico y liderazgo. La capacidad académica, las metas futuras y los ensayos personales son los principales criterios de selección. Esta beca está dirigida a estudiantes que cursan estudios universitarios, de formación profesional o de educación superior en instituciones distintas a la Universidad de Wyoming.
